Apple previews iOS 16 as their latest update brings a variety of brand-new features to your iPhone.

Apple iOS 16

During the WWDC 2022 event, the Tech Titan unveiled a first look at their next long-awaited Operating System update for their family of iPhone devices. The iOS 16 update is turning out to be one of the most major iOS updates in recent memory, as it is specifically designed by Apple to bring about a noticeable shake-up in the iOS eco-system across all Apple devices. Introducing a plethora of new and exciting features with offerings that combine customization, editing and privacy elements, the iOS 16 updates is seemingly meticulously crafted to reflect Apple’s foreseeable future in the ever-competitive and ever-expanding tech industry.

Greater Customization for your Lock Screen

One of the most viewed aspects of any Phone is probably their Lock Screen, keeping this exact fact in mind, Apple has introduced features that would allow Users to customize their iPhone Lock Screens to a great extent. Being the most substantial update to their Lock Screen, Apple has given Users the abilities to easily change and try out multiple styles for their Lock Screen on the go, simply by holding the Lock Screen and swiping between different styles. Each Style currently available will be tailored to complement each specific font, color filter and background photo that a User has set on their Lock Screen. Moreover, Apple has finally added the ability for the Users to change the Font Styles of their Time and Date of their Lock Screen as well. This follows along with the introduction of various Lock Screen Widgets such as Temperature and Calendar Widgets that are also designed to compliment the Users’ Apple Watch Widgets. With these plethora of customization options, Apple has allowed Users to customize multiple Lock Screen with the aforementioned features, which they can easily swipe between one another as per the desire of the User. In addition to this, the Company has also included a ‘Photo-shuffle’ option, that will allow the Lock Screen to automatically change pictures every time a User would turn on their screen. Finally, Apple has also implemented a ‘Live Activities’ feature on their Lock Screen that is specifically designed to keep Users ingrained in things that occur in real time such a Sports game or a Food Delivery Order, the notifications of which will now appear on the Lock Screen, clearly apparent for the User to view.

Innovating Messages

Taking a page out of WhatsApp’s book, Apple has apparently revamped their Messages System by introducing three new and long-requested features to their Messages App. The First Feature will allow Users to properly edit sent messages. This feature is designed to completely abolish the embarrassment derived from unintentional typos, as this new update will allow messages to be editing after the fact, allowing Users to fix their typos or even write a better articulated version of their message. The second feature will enable Users to recall or “unsend” a sent message. Meaning that if the wrong message or an unintentional message was accidently sent by a User to the wrong person, the User will now have the ability to use the Undo Send tool in order to prevent that message from being read. The last feature is an add-on of the Undo Send feature, as it will allow Users to mark Messages and whole Threads as Unread, providing the Users the opportunity to read the message without responding to it, whilst keeping the Sender of the Message unaware of whether their Message was read by the User or not.

Safety Check

A new Privacy tool from Apple, this is directly targeted towards Users who appear to be at the risk of suffering from Domestic Violence from their Significant Other. Safety Check will allow such Users to quickly remove their Partner’s access to their iCloud and Apple Products as it includes an emergency reset option that would help Users to reset their Privacy Permissions as well as limit Messages to a singular device which only they have access to. Furthermore, Safety Check will also allow users to better gauge the Apps and the People to whom they have given greater accessibility of their Personal Information.
